Save the Villain [Chapter 2]

It was not easy to accept that I had died once, but memories of my past life flowed like a flood.

“Damn bitch! If it weren’t for you, my life wouldn’t have been ruined!”

I covered my ears.

The innocent eyes instantly became spiteful.

Who on earth is this guy yelling at me.

Anyway, none of the memories that came to mind were good.

What father would force his daughter to pickpocket and beg just because he has no money?

As soon as I got my previous life's memory back, I wanted to hit Damion's solar plexus right away, but my hands were cotton bat.

There was nothing I could do with my child's body, so I stayed quiet for a month.

It looked like a scarecrow in a field. A foolish scarecrow who stands with open arms even when sparrows peck at him.

Even if I get cursed at, I’ll just stare blankly. Even if he screams, I don't mind.

When he tried to hit me for losing money in the gambling board, I ran away.

A little over a month later, I could see where this place was.

It was inside the book <Random Box>, a book I read on a boring plane.

Ciel, a child from the slums, had a minor role in the original work whose name was not mentioned once.

Therefore, even though I found the memory of my past life, it was inevitable that it would take a long time to know where this place was.

There seemed to be no one who could help me. But there was a way to escape.

I saved money secretly from Damion. I kept the money I received from running errands under the can.

Also, I was given a fairly generous salary after running errands for ingredients for the bakery man, who took pity on me for going through a hard time at such a young age.

It was barely enough money to buy a delicious meal, but I saved it.

After spending all the money I had saved on mailing a letter to a nobleman, I became penniless.

It was the day I returned from going out early in the morning. That day too, Damion pointed at me with a bottle of alcohol.

Even though it was broad daylight and the sun was shining, he was busy drinking.

— Hey, it’s noisy.

Damion, who had a skinny body, opened his eyes at my words.

How dare this be, that kind of look in his eyes.

— Hey, you! What are those eyes? Do you know who I am?

— Yes. I heard you’re Baron Jun’s butler. Then what’s the point? It’s already been over.

I looked at him with a dull eye.

I know it’s Ciel’s biological father, but there’s nothing to know.

The lady who lived with Damion said he was a very handsome man when he was young, but that was none of my business.

— Mister, I heard that you embezzled Baron Jun’s property while working as a butler?

Damion was looking at me like a madman.

That’s understandable. The daughter who listened well and was obedient, always said, ‘Dad, I ‘m sorry.’ Instead of saying, ‘I heard you embezzled it?’

How did I know that you embezzled it?

I was about to get a scab on my ear every day. This was because when Damion was drunk, he started with ‘I used to be a butler, I......’ and ended with embezzlement.

— Ha, this crazy girl…

Is this guy cursing again?

I was looking at Damion with a slightly tired look.

— Aaaaah!!

When he raised his hand as if to hit, I shouted in a roaring voice.

No, are you really crazy? There is nowhere else to hit a body this small.

— Oh my!

Damion was looking at me with an expression like, ‘Are you crazy?’

The only thing I could trust was myself, who was young and weak. But with what guts i am doing this?

I slowly turned my head when I heard the rustling sound.

Damion’s, who had been arguing with me, also turned his head.

— It’s over there, Baron Jun.

There was a baron standing there with a face as stern as a Moai statue.

He was a vassal who served Count Renice, the lord of the country village where I was.

A baron may be nothing in the nobility hierarchy, but for commoners like us, it was a very distant status.

— Right. My butler was here!

A sly smile appeared on the Baron’s hardened face.

Renice’s crazy dog. Baron Jun stretched out his arms as if to hug Damion.

— You act like you're going to lick my feet, and then you embezzle my property! You have a big liver!

Fortunately, Baron Jun was not even interested in me.

It was the same with his knights.

No matter how much he went out, he didn't touch a child.

He was desperately missing the old butler who had stabbed him in the back.

Baron Jun passed me, and by instinctively I raised my arms to cover my face.

It's a reward.

The man laughed and threw me a pocket of some gold coins.

— How dare you!

— What a bad father you were tsk tsk. Unlike you idiot, your child is quite smart.

I looked around lightly.

Lowered my head and bowed to the Baron and left the old house without looking back.

— Mister, don’t live your life like that.

Before leaving, I didn’t forget to aim for Damion.

I was lucky enough to escape the slums, but the reality was cold.

I was scammed while exchanging my bag of gold coins for silver coins.

In fact, it wasn't a scam, it was almost a coercion.

The scam was the same no matter where I went.

Even though I knew the exact price, he shouted what the girl knew, and threatened to report it to the guards for stealing a noble’s pocket.

Only after biting off the hand of the store owner who was trying to steal my money was I able to escape.

This would have been unthinkable in my past life.

In the past when I was Si-eun, I was quite obedient, but it was not just because of the memories of suffering.

For me, waking up as a child in a slum, I had a hard time changing money.

When I left the slums, I thought everything would work out because money was easy to exchange, and I was lucky enough to meet a noble guardian.....

Who would have known that I would live a more difficult life than my previous life?

‘Because I can’t even use magic and I’m so dirty that anyone thinks I’m a child from the slum.’

Light sky blue hair was like a straw, and black stains were all over my white skin.

Turquoise eyes that should have sparkled like a child were dead black.

The old dress I was wearing looked like a piece of rags woven together.

The Baron offered a more generous favor than expected, but there were many bad guys in the world who couldn't just leave a child with money alone.

'I experienced all the bitterness of the world.'

Oh, my. Still, at the age of 12, I almost died when I met the head maid of the Grand Duchy.

'But there weren't only bad people.'

The person who saved me as I was dying on the street was Lady Marianne, the head maid of the Grand Duchy of Yekart.

I lost all the rewards given by Baron Jun, and got into a carriage accident while trudging down the street.

My body was weak, and I was so seriously injured that I had no memory of the accident.

The kind head maid informed me that she had brought me to the Grand Duke's estate as I was about to lose my life.

Thanks to lady Marianne's consideration, I began working as an apprentice maid for the Grand Duke at the age of thirteen.

My colleagues also came around my age, so it wasn’t that early.

It's already been four years since I came to the Grand Duke's estate.

“Ciel, are you finished?”

“Chief maid?”

“I came here because I was worried. Aren’t you in charge of all the work yourself?”

“No, my colleagues often do too.”

“That’s a relief, but….”

Lady Marianne, who looked a little thin, approached me and asked.

She had been resting after suffering from a rare disease, but it seems that she came out today because the saintess was coming.

The old woman who was plump a few years ago was noticeably thinner.

Lady Marianne who gave me a warm smile left, saying she had something to say to the butler.

‘I have to work, work!’

I started cleaning again after stopping for a while.

What has changed so far is that I have escaped the apprenticeship and become an official maid.

In fact, working as a maid is not a job that modern people like very much, but I was satisfied with it.

Wouldn't it be nice if I was Riena, the female protagonist and full of abilities?

I was just a nameless minor, and I needed a way to make a living right now.

As the maid of Ferze Yekart, the villain and sub-male protagonist, I had no other options.

Come to think of it, there were several anecdotes about the Grand Duke.

Such as catching a serial killer and throwing it alive at a monster, or slashing the enemy’s neck without changing a single expression even though a poisoned arrow is pierced in his shoulder.

A nobleman who molested a maid at the grand duke's estate was banned from continuing the family line....

It was the motto of the Archduke to pay back three times. There were other things, but that’s all I remember.

At this point, he could be rumored to be a hero.

Perhaps it was because of the intimidating atmosphere and the cruel punishment, but Ferze was known as evil grin reaper, a villain blinded by blood and slaughter.

However, Ferze, the owner of our Grand Duke's estate, who was born as a brilliant villain, was a pretty good owner, contrary to his bad reputation in the world
